Greater Fort Worth Herb Society: Home
The Greater Fort Worth Herb Society was founded in 1985 with the purpose of
"sharing knowledge of herbal folklore, planting, growing, propagating, cultivating, harvesting and using
herbs." A further goal is the fostering of education and knowledge regarding herbs and other botanical
subjects.
As a service to the community, the Herb Society plants and maintains
a Herb Garden at the Log Cabin Village. The garden contains herbs from the period
of settlement as well as more modern species since the garden is used as a teaching garden by BRIT to
instruct children and adults.
Each year in May, the Herb Society hosts a Herb Festival. In
2008, the plan is to hold the festival
on Saturday, May 17, at the Ft. Worth Botanic Garden Center.
See our Herb Festival page to learn more about the 2007 Herb Festival.
The Greater Fort Worth Herb Society holds meetings the third Saturday of each month. Our social
time starts at 9:30 a.m. and the meeting starts at 10 a.m. See the meeting information below for the topic, location
